Real Madrid will be looking to win back the Champions league title they lost to Juventus in 2015 after a run of results that has seen them slip from fifth to 12th in La Liga and 11th to eighth in Serie A.
The team that has been on a run that has not seen them win in the last eight years, are the champions of Europe after overcoming a 4-0 defeat to Real Sociedad on Sunday.
Juventus are currently in seventh place, with eight points from five games, but Real Madrid have been in pole position for a place in the semi-finals with wins over Celta Vigo and Atletico Madrid, but are currently tied with a fifth-placed side in the competition.
It has been a season of ups and downs for Real Madrid, with the club currently ranked in the top six in LaLiga and top four in Serie B.
They are currently on a 10-match unbeaten run, winning five of their six matches in La Ligada, while they have won eight of their last nine league games, conceding just one goal in the process.
However, a 3-1 defeat to Celta on Saturday will see Real Madrid drop to fifth in the standings and they will be hoping that they can finish off the game with a victory over the Italian side on Sunday in the group stage.
The club has also been knocked out of the Copa del Rey by Barcelona on Sunday, with Atletico winning 3-2 on aggregate in a penalty shootout at Camp Nou to take the game into extra time.
