As the world’s biggest videogame publisher and publisher of the most popular videogame franchises of all time, Activision Blizzard (yes, that’s Blizzard, the company behind Warcraft, StarCraft, Diablo, and Overwatch) has a pretty solid history of pushing its own agenda and shaping gaming as it has done for the last decade.
In fact, the games it makes are more popular than the movies they make.
Activision Blizzard has been making games for a long time.
The company’s first foray into the world of online gaming was World of Warcraft, a game launched in 2001 that launched the online gaming phenomenon.
In 2010, it released its first game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
At the time, Blizzard was still focused on developing World of Tanks.
Over the next decade, it launched more games, including Diablo III, Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, and World of WarCraft.
Then in 2017, it made a splash with the release of Overwatch.
That year, the game went on to become the top grossing game of all-time, becoming the highest-grossing video game of the year.
But Blizzard’s biggest success came in the year after the Overwatch release, when it brought its popular Call of War series to consoles.
“Call of Duty’s” success and longevity has made it one of the biggest-selling videogame series of all times, and the company has had a huge impact on the games industry.
Blizzard has also become a huge publisher of massively multiplayer online games (MMOs), or MMORPGs, where players are able to team up to fight in epic battles with other players in a persistent online world.
