A new report from the market research firm ICM finds that internet marketing companies are doing better than ever, thanks in large part to their ability to build relationships with consumers.

The report, called Internet Marketing Trends: The Power of Consumers, said that online marketing had reached a $30 billion market value in 2017, up from $24 billion in 2015.

“Online marketing has the potential to make a major impact on the way we consume, manage and transact with our brands and brands partners, which in turn will help drive brand value, profitability and revenue growth,” ICM Senior Research Analyst Robby J. Smith said in a statement.

As of March 30, 2018, online marketing was the fourth largest segment in the $3.2 trillion US retail market, according to ICM.
